Like many of the children at Mercy Home, Mentesnot wants to be a doctor when he groes up.
Getahun
Getahun (age 9) is one of the older children in the Home. Getahun's english is excellent and he prides himself on being a great storyteller and comedian. Metiku's mother has achieved a level of stability that will allow him to return home this fall and he will need Mercy Home's support like never before. Metiku speaks English extremely well and he loves a good joke or prank.
Surafel
Surafel (age 7) is likely the smartest child in the home and definitely one of the most thoughtful and kind. He has a very spirited approach to learning and loves to be finished first. He loves bikes and motorbikes and his favorite foods are cake and chocolate.
Tariku
Tariku's (age 6) home life mirrors that of many other children. A single mother, working basic labor, who is unable to afford schooling for him or his siblings. Tariku was sent out on the street at the age of four to help provide for his family. Now, despite his young age, Tariku is a strong student in both math and English.
